Billy Wayne Woodall, a devoted family man and pillar of the community, passed away peacefully on the 26th of June 2024, at the age of 80 years old.
He was born on April 14, 1944, to his parents Samuel Middie and Lila Mai Woodall, in Fountain Head, Tennessee.
Billy served his country for 30 years in the Army, where his work as a document courier and instructor and is credited with saving the military significant funds. He was a passionate genealogist, meticulously tracing the family history and bringing generations together. Billy was a longtime member of the Jaycees, where he volunteered tirelessly to bring holiday cheer and assistance to families in need.
He was also a dedicated tobacco farmer, working the land with care and maintaining a deep connection to his heritage Billy was known for his willingness to offer a helping hand and dispense advice, often accompanied by a story or two. However, his generosity extended far beyond words. In times of hardship, he was a constant source of support and a listening ear. He had a unique fondness for simple pleasures, like a perfectly cooked spiraled ham in a brown paper bag. Above all, Billy was a man of strong faith who loved his God and country.
Billy Wayne Woodall is survived by his son, Brian (Kim) Woodall; daughter, Renee Woodall; grandchildren, Chris (Christiane) Woodall, Dakota (Julia) Woodall, Dalton (Myra) Shaub, Drake Shaub, and Emily Woodall.
He was predeceased by his wife of 27 years, Linda Woodall; father, Samuel “Middie” Woodall; mother, Lila Mai (Hester) Woodall; brother, Clyde Woodall; sisters, Goldie Harrison, and Nellie Hammond.
Services will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M., until time of the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will immediately follow in Crestview Memory Gardens. https://www.crestviewfh.com
