Billy Chowning, age 78 of Gallatin, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Mr. Chowning was born June 11, 1946, to the late Cleo Chowning and Velma Powell Chowning.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Donnie Chowning, Bobby Chowning, and Jerry Chowning; and sister, Betty Elmore.
He is survived by wife of 35 years, Juanita Smith Chowning of Gallatin; sons, Matt Chowning (Melissa) of Hendersonville, Rodney Smith (Valeria) of Florida, Justin Pitt (Christina) of Goodlettsville; brother, Jimmy Chowning of Kentucky; sister, Linda Ball (Wilburn) of Coopertown; grandchildren, Michelle Chowning (James), Bryan Chowning (Kate), Jacob Luther, Luis Gondim (Kennedy), Matheus Gondim (Lauren); and great-grandchildren, Lyla Harper, Mack Harper, Quenitin Harper, and Juilette Harper.
Service will be Saturday, June 15th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin. Visitation will be Saturday, June 15th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
