Betty Jo (Clay) Harris, age 83 of Bethpage, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Mrs. Harris was born on March 1, 1940 in Granville, TN to the late Hobert Clay, Sr and Lucille (Hogan) Clay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Harris.
She is survived by her children Rufus Clay and Willie Harris, and stepson, Noel Harris.
Betty is survived by a legacy that extends beyond their years, leaving behind a profound impact on the lives of her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished by the two children she lovingly raised, Rufus A. Clay and Willie V. Harris.
The joy of Betty’s life was multiplied by the arrival of five grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye. Tradessa S. Harris, Matthew J. Clay, Justin Harris, Shametria D. Harris, and Desiree A. Harris were a constant source of pride and happiness, as Betty watched them grow, learn, and thrive. The bonds forged between Betty and her grandchildren will forever remain strong, a testament to the love and care they shared.
As Betty embraced the role of a great-grandparent, her family tree continued to flourish with the addition of twelve great-grandchildren who brought endless laughter and joy into Betty’s life, reminding her of the beauty that comes with each new generation.
Betty’s journey may have come to an end, but the memories she created, the love she shared, and the wisdom she imparted will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched.
