Barbara Sue Hinkle Wauford Sorrow “Bobbie Sue” “Mama” “Nanny”, 84, of Gallatin, TN, passed away November 27, 2025.
Bobbie Sue graduated from Howard High School in Nashville. She was the youngest of 8 children. Attended Dalewood Baptist Church and Eastwood Baptist Church. She and Palmer owned a full-service Bridal Shop called “The Bride Shoppe” for many years. Prior to that, she worked at Baptist Bookstore and Shoney’s.
After the Bride Shoppe closed, she became a full-time housewife and caretaker for her mother-in-law and sister, Marjorie. She and Palmer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before he passed away in January of 2010. They had been together since they were 12 and 13 years old.
Nanny loved gardening. She was known for having the prettiest flower beds in her yard and great green thumb. She was always a happy soul. She loved Jesus more than anything and had such an evangelic spirit.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Hoover Sorrow; son, Nicholas Keith Sorrow; parents, George Wauford and Carrie Ethel Hinkle Wauford; siblings, James Wauford, Marie Wauford Sullivan, Imogene Wauford Burroughs, Marjorie Wauford Young, Katherine Wauford Goosetree, Alice Wauford Burroughs, Joe Wauford.
She is survived by her sons, Barry K. (Joan) Sorrow and Braden K. Sorrow; daughter, Ginger K. Sorrow; grandchildren, Ann Marie Sorrow, Nicholas (Kelly) Sorrow, Carrie Beth Sorrow, Tony Sorrow, Kelly (Caleb) Donnell, Tiffany (Mark) Moghaddam, Angel (Brett) Jaeckel, Tabitha (Tommy) Ring, Tara (Cody) Price, Brandon (Hannah) Sorrow, Taylor Sorrow, Jordan Funderburk, Bailey Sorrow as well as 23 great-grandchildren.
Her Celebration of Life will be December 28th at the Kennesaw Farms Club House located at 1000 Lt. Gibson Circle Gallatin, TN 37066. Guests are welcome between the hours of 1 PM and 6 PM. This will be a drop-in celebration where everyone can pay respect and fellowship. Light snacks and drinks will be served.
