Barbara Faye Troutt, 80, went to her eternal Home into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 19th, 2025.

Born in Gallatin, Tennessee, on March 13th, 1944, to the late J.B. (Jake) Slayton and Willie Ann (Ped) Slayton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 44 years, Hazel R. Troutt; brother, Bobbie Slayton; and sisters, Linda Manning and Judy Bradley.

She is survived by brother, Morgan (JoAnn) Slayton; brother-in-law, Charles Bradley; daughters, Lisa Franklin and Laurie (Kenny) Johnson; grandchildren, Kyle (Gracie) Blankenship, Kelsey (Derek) Stewart, Kurt (Kayla Jean) Franklin, Kayla (Logan) Stewart, and Michael (Jennee) Nelson; great-grandchildren, Brady, Carson, Kylaa, Dalayna, and Kaelynn Stewart, Lucy Jo Blankenship, Benjamin, Elijah, and Baby Franklin, Noah Stewart, Beau and Brady Nelson, and a host of special nieces and nephews.

She was a hairdresser for almost 40 years, owning her own beauty shop in Bethpage for most of that time. She loved the Lord, was a Christian, and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bethpage for many years. She served as church clerk for almost 30 years and volunteered in many other roles as well. She loved music and sang in a gospel group, The Believers, traveling to area church revivals and Sunday afternoon singings for many years.

She taught her children and grandchildren, by example, to love Jesus, always be honest, work hard, and treat others with kindness, compassion, and respect.

She was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed.

The Going Home Service, conducted by Bro. Kevin Slayton, will be held in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with Kyle Blankenship, Kurt Franklin, Derek Stewart, Logan Stewart, Brady Stewart, and Carson Stewart serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 22nd from 03:00 p.m. – 07:00 p.m. and on Thursday, January 23rd from 09:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
