Aubrey Joe Haltom, 85, of Hendersonville passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at home after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born on February 14, 1936 in Jackson, TN and was the son of the late Louise and Brandon Wyatt and Richard Haltom, and Vercie Haltom, who survives.

Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Veda McClendon Haltom; daughters Melanie Redden and Suzanne Payne; and grandchildren Craig and RachelKate Redden and Charlie, Wyatt, and Finn Payne.

After serving in the US Air Force, Joe graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in accounting. He earned his CPA and worked for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1991 after 33 years of service. Joe was an active member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville for 54 years, serving with the Backpack Ministry and Prayer Room. He enjoyed golf, water sports, boating, card games, and supporting his grandchildren in their activities.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11 A.M. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 3 P.M. until 6 P.M. and again on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 10 A.M. until service time.
