In Loving Memory of Apolonio “Paul” Martinez Jr.

With profound sadness and unwavering faith, we announce the passing of Apolonio “Paul” Martinez Jr., who entered into eternal rest with the Lord on July 18, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of his family.

Paul was born on April 24, 1940, in Houston, Texas, to the late Apolonio Martinez and Margarita Martinez. A devoted Catholic, Paul lived a life rooted in faith, love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his family. His kindness, strength, and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Apolonio Martinez and Margarita Martinez, and by his beloved sons, Paul Martinez, Frank Martinez, and Gavin Williams.

His greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared a beautiful 66 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Beatrice Martinez, whose love and devotion were the foundation of their family and the life they built together. He is also survived by his cherished daughter, Katherine Williams.

Paul was a proud and loving grandfather to Jennifer and Eric Gilley, Christopher Martinez, Nikki Lyons, Joseph Williams, Justin and Samantha Williams, and Jasmine Williams. Nothing brought him greater happiness than watching his family grow. He treasured every moment with his great-grandchildren: Piercen Gilley, Greysen Gilley, Kohlsen Gilley, Isabell Williams, Christopher Martinez Jr., Lanessa Martinez, Lilyana Martinez, Lyric Martinez, and Elijah Martinez. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he loved them beyond measure.

Outside of his family, Paul was a devoted Raiders fan who faithfully cheered on his team through every season. He also enjoyed relaxing with his favorite drink—a vodka and seven with a twist of lime—while sharing stories, laughter, and good times with family and friends. His sense of humor, warm smile, and love of gathering with those closest to him created memories that will be treasured forever.

Those who knew Paul will remember his unwavering love for his family, his strong faith, his resilient spirit, and the joy he found in simply being surrounded by the people he loved most. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in knowing he has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord, reunited with those who have gone before him, and now rests in eternal peace.

A Celebration of Life honoring Paul will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, celebrate his remarkable life, and give thanks for the countless memories he leaves behind.

Though he is no longer with us, Paul’s love, faith, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
