Good news for Tennesseans on many fronts as the NOAA releases its Spring weather outlook.
- While those west of the Mississippi will experience a worsening drought, Tennessee and much of the Southeast are predicted near-normal precipitation.
- Above average temperatures are expected.

“Our national hydrologic assessment helps to inform the Nation where there will likely be too much or too little water. This spring, we anticipate a reduced risk for flooding, and forecast significantly below average water supply where impacts due to low flow contribute to the continued drought,” said Ed Clark, director of NOAA’s National Water Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- Tennessee has a minor outlook for flooding around the Mississippi and West Tennessee, but the forecast for precip in Middle Tennessee is near normal.
