Dr. Scott Langford, Sumner County Director of Schools, is pleased to announce that he has named Julie Daniel as the new Director of Pupil Services.

Mrs. Daniel has spent the past 13 years as a special education supervisor with the district. Prior to that she was a SPED consulting teacher and also served as a special education teacher.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead our Pupil Services team as we support the students of Sumner County,” Mrs. Daniel said. “The dedication of teachers and support staff within our schools is our greatest asset. I look forward to supporting the great work occurring each day across the county.”

Mrs. Daniel is replacing Norma Dam, who is retiring from the school district after 42 years of service, after spending the past 15 years as the director of pupil services.

Dr. Langford says, “Norma Dam exemplifies school system and community service. Across her career, she has helped thousands of students and families excel. We are deeply thankful for her and her service.”

Dr. Langford also added, “Mrs. Daniel brings extensive experience in each area of pupil services and special education. She is devoted to helping students reach their fullest potential.”
