The Monthaven Arts Cultural Center (MACC) will host an event with Katie Delmez, a senior curator at the Frist and Laura Hutson Hunter, arts editor at the Nashville Scene, discussing a new exhibition taking place at the Frist Art Museum.

Women have played an oversized role in shaping Nashville’s contemporary art scene. That’s the theme of a new book and exhibition at the Frist titled In Her Place: Nashville Artists in the 21st Century.

Katie Delmez and Laura Hutson Hunter will be at the Monthaven Arts Cultural Center to discuss this groundbreaking Frist exhibition, which features nearly 100 works by 28 prominent Nashville women artists. They will also discuss and sign the book they co-edited for Vanderbilt University Press.

This indispensable book includes insightful essays by some of Nashville’s top arts writers and historians, including Delmez, Hutson Hunter, Joe Nolan and Vivien Green Fryd. It also features beautiful color images of the artwork in the exhibition. The book will be available for purchase at Monthaven.
