Mrs. Mattie Eva Rochelle age 95 of Portland, TN died Friday, June 25, 2021 in Portland, TN. Mrs. Rochelle was born March 29, 1926 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late William and Mattie Brewer.
Mrs. Rochelle is survived by her son, William Edwin Rochelle Jr. (Sarah) of Portland, TN. Four grandchildren; Allen Spencer, Doug Spencer (Jamie), Kevin Rochelle, and Ginger Wright (Jacob). Six great-grandchildren; Rebecca Spencer, Gabrielle Spencer (Ryan), Kade Rochelle, Presley Rochelle, Kain Wright, and Cole Wright along with three great-great-grandchildren Zayden, Brayden, and Jordan.
Along with her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by her husband William E. Rochelle Sr. and a daughter Anita Lyn Spencer. Six brothers; Dolph Brewer, Bud Brewer, Roy Brewer, Willard Brewer, William Brewer, and Marvin Brewer. Two sisters Nona Brewer Dugger and Tamsy Brewer Martin along with a granddaughter Sheri Lyn Rochelle and a great-grandson Brandon Spencer.
Mrs. Rochelle was a member of Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She retired from AIE Electronics after 35 years of service and from Sarah’s Fashions after 15 years of service. Mattie loved her family, sewing, and her rose garden.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, TN with Rev. Paul Tucker officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Rochelle, Allen Spencer, Doug Spencer, Jacob Wright, Randy Wright, and Ronnie Hoffmann. Honorary pallbearers include Gabby Spencer, Kain Wright, Cole Wright, Rebecca Spencer, and Presley Rochelle.
