May 8, 2025 – On May 7th at approximately 11:15 p.m., Gallatin Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire at Lock 4 Park at the second boat launch. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim, identified as 30-year-old Miles Hanna, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a verbal altercation between two individuals escalated into a shooting. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Will Wheatley, was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Following a thorough investigation, Wheatley has been formally charged with manslaughter.
