Highland Volunteer Fire Department crews assisted Cottontown Fire Department with a structure fire Wednesday night at a home in a rural area of Sumner County.

According to HVFD, Engine 101, Tanker 101, Brush 101, and Brush 103 responded to the scene. Engine 101 operated as the supply pumper, drafting from portable ponds that were filled by tankers to provide water to the first-in attack engine.

Officials said the home was located in a very rural area with a narrow access road, requiring coordinated water supply operations. HVFD thanked Chief Chad Fresen for assisting crews with setting up and maintaining water supply.

Multiple fire departments from across the county responded to assist. No injuries were reported, and officials praised all emergency personnel on scene for their work.
