The Hendersonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen has approved an updated version of the city’s Zoning Ordinance, a key document that shapes development and investment based on community goals for quality, appearance, and functionality.
The revisions include increased lot size requirements to reduce residential density, new rules for commercial signage with continued grant opportunities for local businesses, and added restrictions for smoke and vape shops near schools and similar businesses.
Other updates establish standards for commercial EV charging stations, encourage investment in the Westlake area along West Main Street, and align local codes with recent state legislation.
City officials said zoning codes are reviewed periodically to ensure they reflect Hendersonville’s current needs and long-term vision.
