On June 26th, 2025, Detectives with the Hendersonville Police Department executed “Operation Gummy Trap” to resolve a number of complaints that had been received
concerning the underage sale of vape products from 253 New Shackle Island Rd. Among the tips received, it was also reported that the store was selling illegal Hemp/CBD
products and illegal drugs from the store.
Detectives executed a search warrant on the business and verified that marijuana was being sold as merchandise from the store. Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, illegal hemp
and illegal CBD products were seized. Detectives identified Omar Alazab (25) as the party responsible for the criminal business operations and obtained charges for Resale of
Schedule VI and Drug Paraphernalia. Additional charges related to the criminal business practices are anticipated.
