The Hendersonville Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 15-year-old pedestrian Wednesday night.
Police said officers responded to Hendersonville Medical Center around 10:54 p.m. on July 8 after receiving reports that a juvenile had been struck by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
Investigators determined the teen had been walking with a sibling on Neverbreak Drive when the victim was hit from behind by a vehicle. The driver did not stop and left the scene after the collision.
The teen was taken to the hospital by a family member and was later found to have suffered a serious open fracture to the left tibia.
During the investigation, officers searched the area and obtained residential surveillance video showing a dark-colored sedan traveling westbound on Neverbreak Drive after the crash.
The Hendersonville Police Department continues to review surveillance footage and conduct follow-up investigations in an effort to identify the vehicle and driver involved.
