Hendersonville Police Charge Man with 9 Counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty

On August 3, 2022, the investigation of property maintenance code violations on Savely Drive resulted in the initiation of an animal cruelty investigation by Hendersonville Police Department Detectives.

HPD Detectives contacted Veterinarian, Dr. Heather Schwartz, who along with a representative of the Animal Rescue Corps, was able to respond and quickly assess the need for immediate intervention and treatment.

HPD Detectives then executed a search warrant at the location. With the assistance of Dr. Heather Schwartz, Animal Rescue Corps, and Hendersonville Animal Control, nine dogs were rescued from deplorable conditions. The animals were placed with Animal Rescue Corps for aid, recovery, and possible future placement.

Hendersonville Police Detectives charged David Hendrix (57) with nine (9) Counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty. His General Sessions Court date was set for August 24, 2022, at 0900 hrs.
