Due to continued inclement weather, Hendersonville Parks and Rec is cancelling portions of Freedom Fest, scheduled to take place on Friday evening, July 3rd at Drakes Creek Park. Local officials state they are “unable to get the stage, sound and production up and running for tonight’s concert and vendor fair. We hate this for our attendees, artists and vendors.”
They are planning to shoot off fireworks at 9pm if the rain stops or they have a break in the weather after dark, continues the social media post.
Freedom Festival was set to feature live music, a Kids Zone, food trucks, local vendors, and a spectacular fireworks finale.
This year’s entertainment lineup included Uncle Shuffelo & His Haint Hollow Hootenanny and Rockland Road. A variety of vendors were also set to be onsite.
