Gap Inc. has announced a $58 million expansion of its massive logistics hub in Gallatin, Tennessee, according to Nashville Business Journal.

The 2.3 million-square-foot campus, which supports retail and e-commerce operations for Gap’s portfolio of brands — including Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta — will see infrastructure and technology upgrades as part of the multi-year investment. This latest expansion builds on more than $92 million that Gap has already invested into the Gallatin site over the past eight years.

Gap, a Fortune 300 company and one of the region’s largest private employers, has operated in Gallatin for three decades. The new investment is projected to create 100 additional jobs, with hiring expected to begin right away.

Upgrades are already underway, focusing on automation and technology improvements. The site also serves as a pilot location for innovations that could be implemented across other company facilities. Gap may qualify for a short-term incentive from the Gallatin Industrial Development Board as part of the expansion.

Gap currently employs approximately 1,300 workers at the Gallatin facility, although staffing levels have varied in recent years, in part due to changing counts of part-time positions.
