The City of Gallatin and consultant, Town Planning and Urban Design Collaborative, is inviting the public to attend the Gallatin Zoning Code Update Planapalooza events July 12th – 15th.
Planapalooza is a great opportunity for citizens to work directly with friends, family, neighbors, City staff and officials, and a team of talented planners to build a stronger future for the City of Gallatin.
All Planapalooza events will be held at The Station – 117 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066. On the first evening of Planapalooza (July 12th) the team will hold the Opening Presentation and Hands-On Citizen Workshop at 6pm. An interactive mapping tool will be available on the ZoCoGallatin.com Planapalooza page starting the evening of July 12th. The presentation will be livestreamed, and participants attending virtually must register on ZoCoGallatin.com.
Saturday (July 13th) and Sunday (July 14th) of Planapalooza will feature Topical Meetings where residents can share their hopes and concerns related to Housing & Neighborhood Character; Public Frontages & Streetscapes; and Parks & Open Spaces; and learn how the code can address these. A full schedule of these meetings is on the website. The topical meetings will be held in person at The Station and recorded for later-viewing.
For the entirety of the Planapalooza, the Team and participating City Staff will be working in a temporary design studio located at The Station. Any citizen, business owner or official who wishes to join in and provide comments, suggestions, or simply watch us work, will be able to stop by at their own convenience between 9am-7pm on July 13th and July 14th, and 9am-12pm on July 15th. Our Team members will be available to engage with the community, ask questions and accept feedback and ideas.
On the final evening of Planapalooza, the Team will present their findings so far, and begin to discuss how community input has begun to shape the Zoning Code Update. This meeting will be held at 6pm on Monday, July 15th at The Station. It will also be livestreamed, and participants attending virtually must register on ZoCoGallatin.com.
An interactive website, ZoCoGallatin.com, has been developed to provide more information and offer the community with an opportunity to provide feedback throughout the planning process.
A detailed schedule for Planapalooza, and links if you want to participate in the presentations via livestream, are also available on the website.
