The City of Gallatin is looking to fill a key role responsible for maintaining the systems that keep water service running safely and reliably for the community.
Officials say the city is hiring a Water Plant Maintenance Mechanic to work at the local water treatment plant. The position involves hands-on duties such as maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment, along with troubleshooting pumps and motors, performing preventative maintenance, and handling electrical repairs.
The city says ideal candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, along with two to five years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing maintenance. A valid driver’s license is required, and experience working in a utility setting is considered a plus.
The role also calls for strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including responding to emergency situations when needed.
Starting pay for the position is listed at $25.29 per hour.
