On January 20, 2026, officers with the Gallatin Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at a residence within the city limits of Gallatin.

The ensuing investigation revealed that four suspects arrived at the residence at approximately 6:51 am. One of the suspects, identified as Paul Gardiner, is the father of a minor child who resides at the home. The suspects forcibly entered the residence, during which Gardiner assaulted the mother of the aforementioned child.

Following the forced entry and assault, the suspects attempted to forcibly remove both the mother and the minor child from the residence against their will. During the incident, efforts were also made to interfere with emergency communications.

Due to the rapid response and coordinated actions of Gallatin Police officers, along with assistance from Deputies of the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, all four suspects were located and taken into custody quickly upon arrival. Officers’ decisive intervention prevented further injury to the victims and stopped the suspects’ attempt to remove the victims from the residence.

Officers took all four suspects into custody without further incident. The suspects were transported and booked into the Sumner County Jail.
