Over the past week, Hurricane Larry has continued to strengthen and move through the Atlantic. Today, forecasters are looking forward to Larry bring strong and violent rip currents to the east coast.

Larry has mixed slowly in the Atlantic which has allowed the right tropical ingredients to come into play, causing Hurricane Larry to now be a Category 3. Luckily, Larry isn’t expected to make landfall. However, the waves will be very extreme along coasts.

By tomorrow afternoon, the National Hurricane Center forecasts the Bahamas and Bermuda are expected to receive strong currents. NHC states that “These swells will likely cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.” Forecasters also mention it is best to follow guidelines of lifeguards in this situation.

By Thursday, the east coast of the United States is expected to see these strong currents.
