Dog Rescued From House Fire in Hendersonville

August 29, 2024 – The Hendersonville Fire Department responded to a residential house fire Wednesday morning on Maple Way South and Hickory Hill Drive.

Fire crews were dispatched at approximately 10:08 AM. Upon arrival, fire crews observed heavy smoke and fire from the exterior of the home and extending into the attic.

Fire crews promptly rescued a family dog from the home. The owners were not home at the time of the fire.

The fire was quickly knocked down at around 10:20 AM and brought under full control by about 10:45 AM. According to fire crews, the fire appeared to have started on the fence outside the home and spread to the attic, necessitating entry into the attic to completely extinguish the fire. Crews remained on the scene for nearly two hours. Fortunately, there were no injuries to any personnel.

Fire investigators were called to the scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire. The incident remains under investigation.
