January 6, 2025 – Sumner County deputies apprehended a convicted felon from Nashville, during a routine traffic stop Sunday.
David Smith, who deputies say has prior drug resale convictions in Shelby and Davidson Counties, now faces new charges after deputies conducted a probable cause search of his vehicle.
The search uncovered a firearm with its serial number intentionally scratched off, alongside a substantial amount of marijuana packaged for resale.
Smith is currently in custody, awaiting formal charges.
