On October 7, 2025, the Gallatin Police Department arrested Latayveon Eastwood of Clarksville, TN, following a License Plate Reader (LPR) alert that identified a 2020 Dodge Challenger connected to active arrest warrants.
The department’s LPR system flagged the vehicle, prompting Gallatin MPO K9 Officer McCurry to locate the Dodge Charger at 1101 Long Hollow Pike (Twice Daily). In coordination with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, officers conducted a strategic traffic stop, resulting in the apprehension of Mr. Eastwood.
Following a brief investigation at the scene, officers confirmed that Mr. Eastwood was the individual associated with the outstanding warrants. A probable cause search of the vehicle, conducted by MPO K9 Officer McCurry, led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana.
As a result, Mr. Eastwood was charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of Schedule II – Fentanyl for resale
- Possession of Schedule II – Cocaine for resale
- Simple Possession of Schedule VI – Marijuana
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
This arrest underscores the continued effectiveness of the Gallatin Police Department’s use of LPR technology in enhancing public safety and supporting proactive policing strategies.
