Calling all artists! The City of Goodlettsville is looking for local artists to transform utility boxes into visually appealing, placemaking landmarks throughout the community. Designs should relate to the culture, history, and/or the landscape of Goodlettsville.

The City of Goodlettsville received a grant from the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development for tourism marketing and development initiatives. A portion of this grant will fund the creation of Goodlettsville’s Mural and Art Tour. As a part of this tour, a mural will be developed for the Goodlettsville Visitor’s Center, as well as the vinyl wrapping on 11 utility boxes along Main Street, Long Hollow Pike and Conference Drive with local artwork.

The city of Goodlettsville is asking artists to submit their artwork for consideration for the utility box wrapping. Artists need to submit high-resolution digital images of artwork showcasing Goodlettsville’s culture, history and landscape. Submissions will be accepted through February 5th.

To be eligible, artists of any age may apply. Artist must be a resident of Goodlettsville, employed in Goodlettsville, or attend school in Goodlettsville. A group of Goodlettsville staff, with the help of local students, will review all designs and select eleven (11) designs and three (3) alternative designs. Winners will be announced in mid-February.
