The City of Gallatin is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant City Engineer – Traffic within the Engineering Department.
The role is responsible for overseeing traffic operations, transportation planning, and Intelligent Transportation Systems across the city. Duties include reviewing development plans and traffic impact studies, managing traffic signal systems and the City’s Traffic Operations Center, and coordinating roadway and traffic control projects with Public Works and public safety agencies.
The position also involves responding to citizen traffic concerns and assisting with administration of the City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, have at least eight years of professional engineering experience, including supervisory experience, and possess an active Professional Engineer license. Traffic-related certifications are preferred.
The position is open to both internal and external candidates. The minimum starting salary is $90,766.83.
