Carolyn Whitsell Piccoli was a proud military wife to two retired Air Force veterans. She served more than 30 years in volunteer service to veterans’ causes – most of it for AFSA (Air Force Sergeants Association). Carolyn was born June 14, 1936 in Nashville, TN, to parents Robert (Pop) and Ruby Floyd. She passed away June 4, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents; son James Robert (Robby) Whitsell; husband James H. Whitsell and husband Geno Piccoli. Carolyn is survived by her grandchildren Minchey George; Jamie (Zach) Hebert; Dakota Whitsell; Caitlin and Laila Piccoli; four great-grandchildren, Ava and Brayden George, and Aliana and Charlotte Hebert; step-children Terry (Tony) Dearth; Geno Forman; Anthony (Paula) Piccoli; Joseph Piccoli; sister Patricia (Bill) Standley; niece Sheryl Standley; Nephews Frank (Vickie) and Vincent (Lisa) Standley. She is also survived by very much loved daughters-in-law Donna Whitsell and Paula Piccoli. Visitation for Carolyn will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN, The following service times are tentative at this time and are awaiting confirmation from the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Please check with our office Monday for details. Tuesday from 5 – 7 PM and Wednesday from 11 AM – 12 noon. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at noon followed by interment at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
