A camper trailer fire spread to a nearby home Tuesday night, prompting a multi-agency response in Sumner County.
Highland Volunteer Fire Department crews arrived within 10 minutes of being dispatched and found the fire had extended from the camper into the attic of a nearby home.
The Portland Fire Department and Oak Grove Community Fire District were called in to assist. Firefighters from all three departments launched an aggressive interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control.
The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene, helping save an estimated 80% of the homeowners’ belongings.
In total, 25 firefighters responded to the incident, along with Sumner County EMS. No injuries were reported.
