A tech manufacturer in Gallatin has alerted state officials to an upcoming temporary layoff affecting dozens of workers. ABC Technologies filed a WARN Notice with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development on Nov. 17, advising the agency of plans for a dislocation later this month.
The company reported that 85 employees at its facility on Airport Road in Gallatin will be temporarily laid off beginning Nov. 24. The notice states that the workforce is not represented by a collective bargaining agreement and that no bumping rights apply.
State officials have activated support services in response. The Northern Middle Workforce Development Board’s rapid response team, operated through Workforce Essentials, has been notified to begin coordinating assistance for the affected employees. The board will oversee ongoing Rapid Response and Dislocated Worker services tied to the event.
