Andrew “Leslie” Kenney, Jr., age 95 of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025.

Leslie was born on July 7, 1929 in Opelika, Alabama to the late Andrew Leslie and Lavonia Washington Kenney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Dr. Sharon Elizabeth Kenney-Biggart, grandson Steven Brad Kenney, and his siblings, Ronnie Kenney and Janelle Kenney Lockhart.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Martha Frances Lockhart Kenney, siblings Gary (Joyce) and Eugene (Rita) Kenney, children Andrea Kenney Pitt, Steven (Melanie) Kenney and Aletha Kenney. He is survived by grandchildren Jason (Missy) Pitt, Jennifer (Travis) Stalsworth, Matthew (Jennifer) Pitt, Gregg Kenney, Justin (Brooke) Swinhoe and Andrew (Micah) Swinhoe, Ryan and Nick (Kailani) De Lorenza. He is survived by twelve (12) great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a Boy Scout in high school, he obtained the highest ranking of Eagle Scout. Leslie received his Bachelor of Science majoring in History from Howard College (Samford University) and then received his Masters of Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1963. He pastored several churches in Missouri, Alabama and Tennessee. He worked for the Stewardship Commission for the Southern Baptist Convention in Nashville.

In 1979 he moved to Dallas, Texas where he founded Stewardship Ministries assisting churches and institutional capital funding. He taught a Sunday School class at Park Cities until he and his wife moved to Gallatin, TN. He was an avid gardener with his yard being his oasis. He loved the outdoors that included golf, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the Holy Land, leading many groups to tour the Holy Land.
