A Minor Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for all of Middle Tennessee until noon CST today. At the early hour of 5:50 AM, Sumner County is experiencing clear skies with a frigid temperature of 8.6°F. Winds are calm at 1.6 mph and there is no precipitation.

Today, temperatures will climb to a high of 38.1°F after starting at a low of 8.4°F this morning, with wind speeds expected to reach up to 9.1 mph under continued clear skies. Tonight, the low will settle at about 24.6°F, with lighter winds up to 6.7 mph.

Residents should take precautions due to the extreme cold and particularly low wind chill values, which may lead to hypothermia if exposed for prolonged periods.
