A Severe Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for most of Middle Tennessee, expecting dangerously cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero from 6 PM Monday to noon CST Tuesday. Currently, in Sumner County, the temperature stands at a chilly 11.3°F with a light wind moving at 5 mph under mainly clear skies. There has been no precipitation tonight.

Today, the area reached a high of 33.8°F and a low dipped to 9.9°F. There was significant weather activity with a heavy snowfall amounting to a total of 1.9 inches, as precipitation chances were at 100% earlier in the day. Winds today peaked at 16.2 mph.

Tonight, we anticipate the temperature to remain around the low of 9.9°F with winds calming to around 9.8 mph. The skies are expected to stay mainly clear, with a zero percent chance of precipitation.
